Sony introduces the BURANO camera, the latest addition to its CineAlta lineup of digital cinema cameras. This camera, designed for single-camera operators and small crews, boasts a powerful 8.6K full-frame sensor with color science matching the VENICE 2. It’s the world’s first digital cinema camera with a PL-Mount to feature in-body image stabilization. The BURANO supports various shooting modes, including full-frame, Super 35, and anamorphic lenses. It offers flexibility with frame rates up to 8K at 30fps, 6K at 60fps, or 4K at 120fps.
Notable features include a compact and lightweight body, a built-in optical image stabilization system, and an electronic variable ND filter for exposure control. With over 70 compatible E-mount lenses, the BURANO supports Fast Hybrid AF and Subject Recognition AF, making it suitable for a variety of projects, from scripted to unscripted, commercial to wildlife documentaries.
